    Newcastle Micro Theatre Festival

    Newcastle has a thriving performing arts community and the Newcastle Micro Theatre Festival  is a unique concept on the city's annual cultural events line-up.

    Port of Newcastle will partner with Newcastle Micro Theatre Festival in 2016 as the major sponsor, allowing the organisers to raise the profile of the event and increase the prize money on offer.

    Micro Theatre is a short play writing competition that culminates in a week-long festival season, 23 - 27 August, with the winning plays performed in local café's and a small art gallery.

    Port of Newcastle's CEO Geoff Crowe said: "As the major sponsor of the Newcastle Micro Theatre Festival in 2016, Port of Newcastle is pleased to support an innovative event that will showcase Newcastle's vibrant community of performing artists at a grass roots level."
